About Us

The Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT), a statutory body, is constituted by the Ministry of Information 8s Broadcasting in accordance with Section 5(D) of the Cinematograph Act, 1952 (37 of 1952). The Headquarter of the Tribunal is at Soochna Bhawan, New Delhi.

Tribunal is headed by a Chairperson, assisted by four members.

The Tribunal provides a forum where the grievances with regard to the film certification are redressed and decided in an objective manner in accordance with the law and in consonance with the aims and objectives of the Cinematograph Act, 1952 keeping in view our national aspirations.
